Question 896860: Given the perimeter P, find the missing measurement.
*The picture is showing a triangle*
One side of the triangle has a ? (because it wants you to find it), Another side has 3(x + 2) and the last side has 5x + 3. The perimeter of the triangle is P = 10x + 8. Found 2 solutions by JulietG, josgarithmetic:Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A perimeter is a fence around.
A + B + C = 10x+8 (the given perimeter)
B = 3(x+2) (given) - distribute, B = 3x+6
C = 5x + 3 (given)
B+C = 8x + 9
A + B+C= 10x+8
Therefore A =
(10x+8)-(8x+9) = 2x-1
Now you have your three sides:
2x-1
3x+6
5x+3
Add them together to get the perimeter
