Question 895380: carmela opened her piggy bank and found that she had $5.30. If she has only nickels, dimes, quarters, and half dollars and an equal number of coins of each kind, how many coins of each does she have?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.05 = nickel
.10 = dime
.25 = quarters
.50 = half dollars
Add 1 of each together to get .90
.90 does not go into $5.30 evenly. No solution.
Proof -
5 nickels, 5 dimes, 5 quarters, 5 half-dollars =
.25 + .50 + 1.25 + 2.50 = $4.50
6 nickels, 6 dimes, 6 quarters, 6 half-dollars =
.30 + .60 + 1.50 + 3.00 = $5.40
.
