6x=x+3+2x+4+y
solve for y
6x=x+3+2x+4+y
6x=3x+7+y
get everything but y on the right hand side
6x-3x-7=y
3x-7=y third side\
check
6x=x+3+2x+4+3x-7
6x=6x
ok
