Question 894567: Will you please help me with my math word problem. I tried every solution and I do not know how my professor got different answers than mine.
Luke L. owes $386.43 on his Visa account. He returns two items costing $22.02 and $31.63 for credit. Then he makes purchase of $49.00 and $95.44.
A. How much should his payment be if he wants to pay off the balance on the account?
B. Instead of paying of the balance, he makes a payment of $300 and then incurs a finance charge of $24.23. What is the balance (amount owed) on his account?
----------------------------------------------
According to my professor the answer to letter A is $477.22.
My answer was $406.30
I do not know how my professor got the answer.
For Letter B I answered $-19.87 and he answered 201.45.
Will you please help me understand how he got the answers. Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Part A:

Making the credits, 22.02%2B31.63=53.65
Making the new debt to add, 49%2B95.44=144.44

Starting with current bill debt of 386.43,
