You can put this solution on YOUR website!
length = 3x

width = x

perimeter = 48 yards

Use P = 2l + 2w

48 = 2(3x) + 2x

48 = 6x + 2x

48 = 8x

48/8 = x

6 = x

This tells me that the width is 6 yards and the length is 18 yards.

Use A = length times width to find the area.

A = 3x times x

A = 3(6)(6)

A = 18 times 6

A = 108

The area is 108 yards^2.
