3x⁴-2-5x is divided by x² -3x
Write 3x⁴-2-5x as 3x⁴+0x³+0x²-5x-2
Write x²-3x as x²-3x+0:

                           3x²  + 9x + 27
x² - 3x + 0 )3x⁴ + 0x³ +  0x²  - 5x -  2
             3x⁴ - 9x³ +  0x²
                    9x³ +  0x² -  5x
                    9x³ - 27x² +  0x
                          27x² -  5x -  2
                          27x² - 81x +  0 
                                 76x -  2

Answer:  3x%5E2%2B9x%2B27%2B%2876x-2%29%2F%28x%5E2-3x%29

You can also factor:

         3%28x%5E2%2B3x%2B9%29%2B%282%2838x-1%29%29%2F%28x%28x-3%29%29

Apparently they ignored the remainder and didn't put it over the divisor
as they should have.  The correct quotient only is (d)
