Question 89224: hello, I know the answer to this problem, but I don't know how to figure the whole problem? would you please show me how? x^2-x-6/x^2-4=. I know you times them both by (x+2), but I can't figure out how to get to (x+2). Thanks Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x^2-x-6/x^2-4
Factor where you can to get:
=[(x-3)(x+2)] / [(x+2)(x-2)]
Cancel the factor common to numerator and denominator to get:
= (x+3)(x-2)
