You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the average of three numbers is V. If one of the numbers is Z and another is Y,
what is the remaining number?
Let X = the remaining number. Then to find the average of three numbers
you add them and divide by 3:

%28X%2BY%2BZ%29%2F3%22%22=%22%22V

X%2BY%2BZ%22%22=%22%223V

X%22%22=%22%223V-Y-Z

If the average of three numbers is V. If one of the numbers is Z and another is Y, what is the remaining number?
-------------
n = remaining number
---
(Y + Z + n)/3 = V
Y + Z + n = 3V
n = 3V - Y - Z
