Question 890637: I completed this assignment but my answers were incorrect, I got another a chance to complete and seem to cannot figure out the solutions. Can someone please assist me.
Rounding to two decimal places:
1. The company has made 64,000 widgets in month 1; 103,000 in month 2; 82,000 in month 3; 93,000 in month 4.
The company has this many total hours of work with the number of machines (below) for month 1 (3,000); month 2 (4,000); month 3 (3,500); month 4 (3,750).
The company had the following number of machines operational each month: month 1 (10); month 2 (12); month 3 (11); month 4 (11).
So, how many widgets are being made per machine hour on average over the four months? Show the math.
2. The Department of Defense has a Navy contractor and an Army contractor making the same widget. The Navy contractor made 2625 widgets using 15 workers for three weeks (assume a 40 hour work week in each). The Army contractor made 5000 widgets using 26 workers in three weeks (again, assume a 40 hour work week).
Using the input in terms of "hours of labor" who has the greater productivity, the Army or Navy Contractor? Show your math to prove your point.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1. number of widgets per month is 64000, 103000, 82000, 93000
number of hours per month is 3000, 4000, 3500, 3750
number of machines per month = 10, 12, 11, 11
month 1 = 64000 / (10*3000) = 2.133333333
month 2 = 103000 / (12*4000) = 2.145833333
month 3 = 82000 / (11*3500) = 2.12987013
month 4 = 93000 / (11*3750) = 2.254545455
the number of widgets made per machine hour on average over the four months is (2.133333333 + 2.145833333 + 2.12987013 + 2.254545455) / 4 = 2.165895563
2. Navy contractor = 2625 / (15*120) = 1.458333333 widgets per hour
Army contractor = 5000 / (26*120) = 1.602564103 widgets per hour hour
Army contractor has the greater productivity per hour
