I知 not sure if this is how to do it, I値l give it a shot. To me it makes sense to break it down by dividing 50 by 3= 16.66 then multiply that by 4 = 66.66 round it to 67, so if there is 50 men in class and the ratio is 3:4 then there is 67 women in class.

That is certainly one way to do it, but a similar way
50%2Ff = 3%2F4
Cross multiply
3f = 4*50
f = 200/3
f = 66.67 ~ 67
