You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Parallel lines have the same form.
9x%2B8y=D
Use the point to solve for D.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the slope-intercept form of a line passing through the point (5, 9) and parallel to the line “9x + 8y = –3
------
Slope of the given line = ?
8y = -9x-3
y = (-9/8)x - (3/8)
slope = -9/8
-------------
Your Problem:
Form: y = mx + b where m = -9/8 and y = 9 when x = 5.
Solve for "b":
9 = (-9/8)5 + b
72/8 = -45/8 + b
b = 52/8 = 13/2
----------
Ans: y = (-9/8)x + (13/2)
