Question 887663: 15 men working 6 hours a day can do a piece of work in 20 days. how many men working 8 hours a day can do it in 25 days. Answer by sadike007(4) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! let us do a ratio and proportion technique. it takes 15 men 6 hours per day for 20 days to make one piece.. so it takes 120 hours for 15 men.
it takes x to make one piece in 8 hours for 25 days,
this is what we have now.
15 men → 1 piece/120 hours
x men → 1 piece/ 200 hours.
we now 'cross multiply' and get
x(1/120)=15(1/200)
x=9.. therefore it takes 9 men to work 8 hours per day for 25 days to make one piece
