Question 887470: This is a personal question, but I'm having a hard time finding the answer.
My name is Connor. I'm 15 and I like to bike, I can travel 1.7km in 4 minutes (including a slight hill for the most of the length.
I'm wondering how long it would take me to bike 214km.
I had done a bit of math being the following:
214 / 1.7 * 4 / 60 = 8.39.
Starting with the total distance (214km) divided by the distance I traveled yesterday night (1.7km) multiplied by the minutes it took me to travel the 1.7km (4minutes) divided by the total minutes in an hour(60 minutes) which sums up to 8.39. I just want to make sure this math is correct due to the fact it is summer and I'm making sure I remember some mathematic skills.
Please respond to this question asap because it will make me very happy :), thank you, have a great day!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is speed? d = distance, t = time, then speed is d%2Ft and the dimensions used are LENGTH/TIME. You are naturally expecting that your ratio between d and t is a constant highlight%281.7%2F4%29%28km%2Fmin%29%29. You may need to keep the units in place, so that each unit corresponds to the correct number in the ratio.

How much time to go 214 km?

Your math is correct as 8.39 HOURS, approximately, is the amount of time it'd take you.
