You can put this solution on YOUR website! A passaenger train can travel 325 miles in the sametime a freight train takes to travel 200 miles. If the speed of the passenger train is 25 miles/h faster than the speed of the freight train . Find the speed for each.
 Let the speed of the frieght train be = x miles/hr
 Then the speed of the passenger train = x+25 miles/hr
 Distance travelled by frieght train is = 200 miles

 Distance travelled by passenger train is = 325 miles
 time taken by both the trains is same .
 therefore time taken by frieght train = time taken by passenger train

 time taken = distance travelled/speed
 i.e, 200/x = 325/(x+25)
 200(x+25) = 325(x)
 200x+5000  = 325x
 325x-200x = 5000
 125x = 5000    or  x = 5000/125
 x = 40 miles/hr
 Therefore the speed of Frieght train = 40 miles/hr
 the speed of passenger train = 40+25 = 65 miles/hr
