You can  put this solution on YOUR website! In 3 hours, they are 300 miles apart. 
Their rate of speed is 300/3, or 100 mph (combined) 
A + B = 100 mph 
A = B+8 (it's traveling 8 mph faster) 
Take the known value of A from the second equation and plug it into the first. 
A + B = 100 
(B+8) + B = 100 
2B + 8 = 100 
2B = 92 
B = 46 
If car B is traveling 46 mph, then car A is traveling 100-46, or 54 mph.

Prove it: 
Car A: 54 * 3 = 162 miles in three hours 
Car B: 46 * 3 = 138 miles in three hours 
162 + 138 = 300
