A + B + C = 6%5E2
A + B + C = 36
B = A-1 (consecutive)
C = A-2
Substitute the value of B and C into the first equation.
A + B + C = 36
A + (A-1) + (A-2) = 36
3A - 3 = 36
Add 3 to each side
3A = 39
Divide each side by 3
A = 13
Since they're consecutive, and the largest number is 13, the others are 12 and 11.
11 + 12 + 13 = 36
.
Another way would be to divide 36 by 3 to find the middle number.
36/3 = 12
One number is one more, one number is one less than 12.
