Question 885524: factor each expression.
3x^2-17x+10
6t^2 + 25t +11
3d^2- 17d+20 Found 2 solutions by Alan3354, richwmiller:Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Factoring is trial and error.
Having someone do it for you is pointless.
=============
6t^2 + 25t +11
Notice everything is positive.
It'll be
(at + b)*(ct + d)
b*d = 11, the only factors are 1 & 11,
so it's either (t + b)*(11t + d)
or (11t + b)*(t + d)
--------------
a & c can be 1 & 6, or 2 & 3
Find a combination that gives 25t.
----
That's how they're done.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3x^2-17x+10
look for factors of 30 (3*10) which add up to -17
-2 -15 -2+(-15)=-17
6t^2 + 25t +11
look for factors of 66 (6*11) which add up to 25
3 22 3+22=25
3d^2- 17d+20
look for factors of 60( 3*20) which add up to -17
-5 -12 -5+(-12)=-17
