Question 885457: If tan t = x and t is in quadrant I. Choose the sides a right triangle with t as one of
its acute angles so that tan t = x. Then find the third side of the triangle in order to
find expressions for sin t and cost in terms of x. I am really confused on how to approach this question. Also do you have a website you would recommend that helps with grasping pre-calculus topics? Answer by DrBeeee(684) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Given:
(1) tan(t) = x or
(2) tan(t) = x/1. so one side is x and the other side is 1. The third side, the hypoteneus, is given by
(3) c = sqrt(x^2 + 1)
Then the other trig functions of t are
(4) sin(t) = x/sqrt(x^2 + 1) and
(5) cos(t) = 1/sqrt(x^2 + 1)
I believe this site includes pre-calc.
