First we need to find the discount amount. To do that take 15% of 84. Remember 15% is the same as .15 and of means multiply.

84*.15 = 12.60

So she saves 12.60 off the original price so the new sales price would be:

84-12.60 = 71.40

Now she pays 7% sales tax on the dress so take 7% of 71.40 and add it to 71.40. That will get us:


(0.07 * 71.40) + 71.40
=4.998 + 71.40
=76.398

Or rounded to the nearest hundredth we get $76.40
