x/8 = q + 3/8

x = 8q + 3

3x = 3(8q + 3)

3x = 24q + 9

3x+3 = 24q + 9 +3

3x+3 = 24q + 12

(3x+3)/8 = (24q + 12)/8

(3x+3)/8 = 3q + 12/8

(3x+3)/8 = 3q + 8/8 + 4/8

(3x+3)/8 = 3q + 1 + 4/8

(3x+3)/8 = (3q + 1) + 4/8
