You can put this solution on YOUR website!
numbers are x and x+6.
x%2F%28x%2B6%29=4%2F7.

You want the sum of the two numbers, so first find x, the smaller number; and then sum the two numbers.

LCD is 7(x+6).
%28x%2F%28x%2B6%29%297%28x%2B6%29=%284%2F7%297%28x%2B6%29
7x=4%28x%2B6%29
7x=4x%2B24
7x-4x=4x%2B24-4x
3x=24
highlight%28x=8%29.

The other number is highlight%28x%2B6=8%2B6=highlight%2814%29%29.
Sum of 8 and 14.........!

One number is 6 more than another. The quotient of the smaller divided by the larger is 4/7. What is the sum of the 2 numbers?
----------------
Equations:
x - y = 6
---------
x/y = 4/7
------------
Substitute for "x" and solve for "y":
(y+6)/y = 4/7
7y + 42 = 4y
3y = -42
y = -14
---------
Solve for "x":
x - y = 6
x = 6-14
x = -8
------------------
