You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A car travelled 1.2 times faster than another car. The difference in their speeds was 24 km/h. Find the speed of each car
--------
f = fast car's speed
s = slow car's speed
1 times faster = 2 times as fast
1.2 times faster = 2.2 times as fast
------
f = s + 24
f = 2.2s
---
2.2s = s + 24
1.2s = 24
s = 20 km/hr
f = 44 km/hr

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
set x = speed of slower car
1%2F1.2+=+x%2F%28x%2B24%29
do cross products
1.2x = 1(x+24)
1.2x = x + 24
add -x to each side
.2x = 24
divide each side by .2
x = 24/0.2 = 120
The faster car is going 120 + 24 = 144
