Question 883073: Twice the difference of a number and 8 is equal to 3 times the sum of the number and 3, find the number - so I did: 2(x-8)=3(x+3) - subtract x 2(8)=3(3) - 16+9=25. I know that is the answer, but I don't think I processed it correctly.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In math, there is often more than one way to correctly address a problem.
Here's how I did it:
2(x-8) = 3(x+3)
Distribute
2x-16 = 3x+9
Subtract 2x from each side
-16 = x + 9
Subtract 9 from each side
-25 = x
.
2(-25-8)=3(-25+3)
2(-33) = 3(-22)
-66 = -66
