.8y = .9x + 6
Solve for y in second equation
y = .9x/.8 + 6/.8
y = 1.125x + 7.5
Substitute for y in first equation
.8x = .6*(1.125x +7.5) + 3
.8x = 0.675x +7.5
0.125x = 7.5
x = 60
Now use first equation to determine y
48 = .6y +3
.6y = 45
y = 75
First part is 60 and second part is 75
