I have the set up of 1/x+1/6=1/4
I'm not sure what to do from here. If you could explain and write out the steps it would be appreciated!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That is the correct equation to begin the solution. You know how to add and subtract fractions; so you just do what you learned. The methods are not different here.

What is the simplest common denominator?
Denominator_________Factorization
x____________________x
6____________________2*3
4____________________2*2

Simplest denominator for all rational terms must be x%5E1%2A2%5E2%2A3%5E1=4%2A3%2Ax.

Multiply the left and right members by 2%2A2%2A3%2Ax, simplify and continue from there.
