Question 882803: Please help me solve this line graph.. I've tried to figure it out myself, no use.
"Which of the following equations describe the line shown below?"(3,2)and(-1,-4)

I was also wondering if you could explain what happens to x2 and y2, you see i arranged them in "slope formula" as my teachers call it (although i know there are many different names for it) and i understand where y1 and x1 go,but i don't understand what happens to x2 and y2. Also if you don't mind me asking where do you get and or find the m?

There's nothing following, so I can't pick an equation.

m is the slope.
m = rise/run, or diffy/diffx
m = (-4-2)/(-1-3) = -6/-4
m = 3/2

Then you can use y = mx + b and either point to find b, the y-intercept
Using (3,2)
2 = (3/2)*3 + b
b = -5/2
------
then the eqn in slope-int form is
y = (3/2)x - 5/2
