You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A subtraction is the same as addition of the additive inverse.

-%287d-4%29
-1%2A%287d-4%29
-1%2A7d-%28-1%29%2A4
-7d%2B4

You could also convert ALL subtractions into their equivalent additions, such as the "-4", but I did not do this, because for some students, this makes another step to become confused.

In simplifying (2d-1)-(7d-4), how is the distributive property used? What is the simplified form?

(2d - 1) - (7d - 4)
1(2d - 1) - 1(7d - 4) ------ "Invisible" 1 before (7d - 4) creates "- 1" on the
IMMEDIATE OUTSIDE of the 2nd binomial
2d - 1 - 7d + 4 ----- DISTRIBUTION "1" & "- 1"
Simplify the above, by collecting and combining like-terms
