You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Not knowing how many digits in your number needing to be found, putting 1 could mean adding 10, or adding 100, or adding 1000, or ....., meaning adding something 10%5Ex and not yet really knowing x.

highlight_green%281%2A10%5Ex%2Bn=3n%29. One requirement is x must be a natural number.

2n=10%5Ex

The only method I see is try either to graph y=2n and y=10%5Ex on the same coordinate system, or try different values for x, from NATURAL numbers beginning at x=1, and solve for n.

Try x=1:
2n=10%5E1
2n=10
highlight%28n=5%29.

CHECK.
Putting 1 before the 5 gives 15. Is 15=3*5? YES.
FOUND the number n=5.

You can try this using other values of x also.

If you put 1 before a number, the new number is 3 times as large as the original number. What is the original number?

If it's a single-digit number, then it's 5
If it's a double-digit number, then it's 50
If it's a three-digit number, then it's 500
If it's a four-digit number, then it's 5,000, AND SO ON!!
