The first car has a 60km head start.
After the first hour for the second car, the cars are:
120 / 75
After the second hour for the second car (which is the third hour for the first), the cars are:
180 / 150
After the third hour for the second car, the cars are:
240 / 225
After the fourth hour for the third car, the cars are:
300 / 300
.
You can also do this more quickly for larger numbers by finding the smallest common product.
60,120,180,240,300,360...
75,150,225,300,375...
Car 1 five hours, Car 2 four hours.
