You can put this solution on YOUR website! find the area of the minor segment of a circle whose radius is 8 and has a central angle of 60. Use π =3.14 and round your answer to the nearest tenth.
area of minor segment = area of sector - area of triangle formed at center(1)
area of sector with center angle 60 degree =center angle x (pie r^2)/360
=60 x3.14 x8 x8/360
=3.14 x64/6 =33.4933
area of triage formed at center = r^2 sin(center angle) /2
=8^2 sin 60/2
=64 x sqrt3/4 =16 sqrt3=16 x1.7320=27.7128
area of minor segment = area of sector - area of triangle formed at center
=33.4933-27.7128 =5.7805
Answer
Area of minor segment = 5.7805
