can you show me how to determine if the answer is negative or positive I get the multiplcation part but i get stuck after that.How is the problem solved with addition and subtraction. Are problems like these always negative?

As to this problem: what is ALWAYS true is that -(+) = -
-3(14) = -42
7 - 42 - 13 = 7 - 55 = -48
-55
+ 7
