Question 879051: The directions say to solve the equation for x.
-4+log9(2x)=-5
That log is supposed to have a base of 9 if that clears anything up. Could I please have detailed instructions on how to solve it? I have a final tomorrow and I totally forgot how to solve this one. I tried to solve it and I have the answer because they are in the back of packet I received, but I need to know how to do it.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! solve the equation for x.
-4+log9(2x)=-5
log9(2x)=-1
convert to exponential form: (base(9) raised to log of the number(-1)=number(2x)
9^-1=2x
2x=1/9
x=1/18
