I don't think your problem was copied correctly so I'm going to have to guess here. Make sure you copy word for word next time.
25% and 5%. How many liters of each should be mixed together to get 20 liters that is 14% juice.
lets say we have x liters of 25% juice, since the total is 20 liters, then we would have 20-x liters of the 5% juice.
percent1*liters1+percent2*liters2=final percent*total liters
25*x+5(20-x)=14*20 solve for x
25x+100-5x=280
20x=180
x=180/20
x=9
we said x was the number of liters of the 25% juice, so we have 9 liters of the 25% juice and we have 20-x liters of 5% juice, so 20-9=11 liters of the 5% juice.
