Question 878170: If four times the sum of a number and three is six less than twice the number what is the number
(4n+3)=2n+6 Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Your parentheses were a space off...
4(x+3) = 2x+6
4x + 12 = 2x + 6
2x + 12 = 6
2x = -6
x = -3
.
Four times the sum of (-3 and 3) = twice the number (-3*2) plus 6
4 * 0 = -6 + 6
0 = 0
