Rewrite as:
[x/(x-5)] - 2 < 0
Rewrite with a common denominator:
[x/(x-5)] - [2(x-5)/(x-5)] <0
Combine the numerators: to get:
[x-2(x-5)]/(x-5) < 0
[-(x-10)]/[(x-5)] < 0

The numerator is zero when x=10
The denominator is zero when x=5
Both of these are NOT part of the solution.

Draw a number line; plot points x=5 and x=10
This breaks the number line into three intervals.
