You can put this solution on YOUR website!
for every 5 strides A takes, B takes 7 strides, and C takes 6 strides.
However the ratio of the stride length of A:B:C IS 9:6:5.
In a certain race B beats C by 120 Meters.
:
Dist traveled = stride rate * stride length
B dist: 7 * 6 = 42
C dist: 6 * 5 = 30
let x = the multiplier
42x - 30x = 120
12x = 120
x = 120/10
x = 10 is the multiplier
therefore
B traveled 420 m while C traveled 300 m (120 m difference)
:
By what distance does A beat B in the same race?
Find A's distance
5 * 9 + 10 = 450 meters
therefore
450 - 420 = 30 m, A beats B
