You can put this solution on YOUR website! I'm in agreement with you. The problem description is incomplete. The description lacks data or information about cost and revenue.
Trying to go forward with this, "sales" may mean "revenue". Letting r = revenue, then a table can be made.
MonthCount_______Revenue
___0_____________r
___1____________2r
___2____________4r
___3____________8r
During month number 3, profit was $520.
;
Still, more information on cost, c, or revenue, r, is needed. Is there information to show how profit is changing? None identified. Does cost each month stay the same? No indication to help us to know this.
In month 4, expect revenue 16r, and maybe cost is still c.
16r-c=profit;
8r+8r-c=profit;
8r+520=profit;
still not informative.
The problem description is incomplete.
