By taking the common factor, (x-2y), we get
(x-2y)[-4(x-2y) + 8]
= (x-2y)(-4x+8y+8)
= (x-2y).4(-x+2y+2)
= 4(x-2y)(-x+2y+2).....Answer


There is another way of solving this problem as below:-
Let (x-2y) be = a
So above experession will be
-4a%5E2+%2B+8a
= 4a(-a+2)
= now by replacing a by its original value,
= 4(x-2y)(-x+2y+2) ...... Answer
This way also we can factorise the expression.
