more punctuation would be helpful; is it ((x-2)/4)+12 or (x-2)/(4+12)??

((x-2)/4)+12=14 ... (x-2)/4=2 ... x-2=8 ... x=10

(x-2)/(4+12)=14 ... x-2=224 ... x=226
