Question 872639: Help would be appreciated to figure out the following question
An empty drum weighs 18.0385 kg and when filled with benzene it weighs 25.418kg. If the density of benzene is 0.8766 g/mL, calculate the volume of benzene in the drum.
Can you explain to me how this is worked out
Thanks in advance

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Use the formula density = mass/ volume
An empty drum weighs 18.0385 kg
and when filled with benzene it weighs 25.418kg.
weight of benzene = total weight - drum weight
=25.418-18.0385 = 7.38 kg
=25.418-18.0385= 7.38 kg
volume = mass/density
=7.38/0.8766
=8.42 liters
If the density of benzene is 0.8766 g/mL, = 0.8766 kg/l
