1 x + 8 y = 35 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -8
Multiply (2) by 5
-32 x -40 y = -256
5 x + 40 y = 175
Add the two equations
-27 x = -81
/ -27
x = 3
plug value of x in (1)
4 x + 5 y = 32
12 + 5 y = 32
5 y = 32 -12
5 y = 20
y = 4
x= 3 weight of blue blocks
y= 4 weight of red blocks
