(x+5)^2 - 25 + 9 = 0
(x+5)^2 - 16 = 0

x^2+10x+9=0
x^2++10x+25 -25+9=0
(x+5)^2 = 16
take the square root
(x+5) = +/- 4
x = -5-4 OR -5+4
x = -9 OR -1
