Question 871693: 2 cos^2 theta = sin theta + 2
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2 cos^2 theta = sin theta + 2
----------
2cos^2(t) - sin(t) - 2 = 0
-------
Use the Quadratic formula to get::
sin(t) = [1 +- sqrt(1-4*-2)]/4
----------------------------------
sin(t) = [1 +- 3]/4
-----
sin(t) = 1 or sin(t) = -1/2
-----
t = 90 or t = 210 or t = 330 degrees
