You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x represent the son's age and 7x the father's age NOW
7x + 10 = 3(x+10)
7x + 10 = 3x + 30
4x = 20
x = 5, son's age NOW..Father is NOW 35
checking...10 years from NOW
45 = 3*15

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let +s+ = his son's age now
+7s+ = Remain's age now
+s+%2B+10+ = his son's age in 10 years
+7s+%2B+10+ = Remain's age in 10 years
------------------------------------
+7s+%2B+10+=+3%2A%28+s+%2B+10+%29+
+7s+%2B+10+=+3s+%2B+30+
+4s+=+20+
+s+=+5+
and
+7s+=+7%2A5+
+7s+=+35+
----------------
His son's age now is 5
Remain's age now is 35
-----------------------
check:
+7s+%2B+10+=+3%2A%28+s+%2B+10+%29+
+7%2A5+%2B+10+=+3%2A%28+5+%2B+10+%29+
+35+%2B+10+=+3%2A15+
+45+=+45+
OK
