Question 870241: If 9 workers complete the work in 10 days how many workers will complete the same work in 18 days Found 2 solutions by josgarithmetic, josmiceli:Answer by josgarithmetic(39613) (Show Source):
We do not know the rate of one worker, but we could find this rate. Still, without directly calculating it,...
.
This is simply the basic uniform rate equation for task or job completion. Rate times Time equals Job. Both expressions equated are equal to 1 job, "the work". Notice r is a factor on both sides of the equation. Just solve for n, the number of workers needed for completing the job in 18 days.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 9 workers complete the job in 10 days
--------------------------------------
10 times as many workers can complete
the job in 1/10 of that time, so
--------------------------------------
90 workers complete the job in 1 day
--------------------------------------
1/18 of that many workers will take
18 times longer to complete the job, so
----------------------------------------
5 workers complete the job in 18 days
