Question 867541: Is the relation a function? Why or why not? For: (2,3) (3,4) (-9,9) (2,1)
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! It is not a function because there are more than 1 value of y for a particular value of x.
the pairs (2,3) and (2,1) have different values of y for x = 2.
in order for it to be a function, you can have only 1 value of y for each and every value of x.
