Question 866762: Hi! :) Can you please help me with this question?
The question states: "From point D, the angle of elevation of a cliff top (F) is 42 degrees. After walking 75 m along a street inclined at 11 degrees (D to E), the angle of elevation from point E is 55 degrees."
There are two question I'm stuck on! I hope you don't mind!
1) Work out angles FDE and DEF
2) Find the height of the cliff, FG.
Thank you so much for your help in advanced!!
Best regards, student. ~

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The road is a transversal that intercets the horizontal lines used to measure elevation at points D and E
1) angle FDE = 55 + 11 = 66 degrees, note that 11 degrees is an alternate interior angle
angle DEF = 169 - 42 = 127 degrees, note that 169 degrees is an alternate interior angle
angles given result in sum of triangle angles > 180
