Question 864655: Solve each inequality. graph its solution, and write the solution in set notation.
|x+7|+15>12
Here's what I did:
1)|x+7|+15>12
-15 -15
2)|x+7|>-3
3) x+7<-3 or x+7>3
4) x+7<-3 or x+7>3
-7 -7 -7 -7
5)x<-10 or x>-4
answer: (-infinity,-10)U(-4,infinity)
Im not sure if this is right. I think it is either no solution, or (-infinity,infinity)
Thanks!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|x+7|+15 > 12

|x+7|+15-15 > 12-15

|x+7| > -3

Since |x+7| is never negative, it is always greater than -3 for any value of x

So |x+7| > -3 is true for all values of x making the answer in interval notation to be (-infinity, infinity)
