first to solve this kind of question we need to know the elements given...ie...in this instance response to treatment is given.
...P(that a patient will respond to treatment)=0.9
to get for no response,we say:1- P(that a patient will respond)
...1-0.9=0.1
1-P(patient a will not respond)andP(patient b will not respond)
1-p(0.1)*P(0.1)
=1-0.01
=0.99........or i think it is just
0.1*0.1 which is equal to 0.01....based on the fact that the events are independent.
im not so sure!
