Divide x%5E6 + 5x%5E5 + 9x%5E3 - 3x%5E2 -23 by x + 4. Synthetic division is very hard to format nicely on this particular software, but here goes:
-4 1 5 0 9 -3 0 -23
-4 -4 16 -100 412 -1648
1 1 -4 25 -103 412 -1671
So, g(-4) = -1671
